Walter Wayne Bush, 51, of Brenham, husband of Lauren Bush, died February 10, 2010 in Brenham.
Born March 2, 1958 in Weimar, Texas to Bobby Joe and Audrey Jean (Otto) Bush, he was a graduate of Brenham High School. On March 18, 1978, Walter married Lauren Stegemoller in Friedens United Church of Christ in Washington, Texas. He was the owner of Brenham Painting Co.
Walter enjoyed outdoor activities such as fishing, barbecuing, and most especially playing with his grandson, Carson. Enjoying sports was a major part of his life! He was a huge fan of Brenham sports and University of Houston athletics, and displayed a passion for his occupation as a paint contractor.
Survivors include his wife, Lauren; his mother, Audrey Jean Bush of Flatonia; son Kevin Bush and wife Bonnie of Brenham; daughter Katie Bush of Houston; grandchildren Carson Wayne Bush of Brenham, and a granddaughter due in March; brothers and sisters-in-law Robert and Katie Bush of Denver, CO., and Jimmy and Tammy Bush of Chappell Hill; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Ellen and Brent Wells of Brenham, April and Ray Duch, Mike and Candie Stegemoller, and James Shay, all of Washington; nieces and nephews Jason Shay, Ronnie Shay and fiancé Loreen Riske, Russell Shay and special friend Morgan Matthies, Robert Shay, Michael and Nicholas Stegemoller, Ryan Duch, Brent and Katie Bush, Bobby Bush, Kaci Bush, David Applewhite and family, Scott Applewhite and family, and other relatives including his father-in-law and mother-in-law Earl and Alverne Stegemoller of Washington, Tx. He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Joe Bush and his uncle, Kenneth Otto.
Funeral services for Walter Bush are scheduled for Saturday, February 13, 2010 at Friedens United Church of Christ at 10:00 a.m. with Charlie Matejowsky officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m, at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
Serving as pallbearers are Jason Shay, Ronnie Shay, Russell Shay, Robert Shay, Michael Stegemoller, Nicholas Stegemoller, Ryan Duch, Brent Bush and Bobby Bush. Honorary pallbearers are Steven Dahlquist, Kenneth "KP" Phillips, Don Valis, Wayne Seilheimer, Tim Wesolick, and Lorinda Maynard.
