Evelyn Kuecker Schulze, 82, of Brenham died February 20, 2010 at Kruse Village. The widow of Erwin O. Schulze.
Evelyn Kuecker Schulze was born on May 24, 1927 in the Mound Hill Community near Brenham to Henry and Elsie Janner Kuecker. She was baptized on July 17, 1927 and confirmed on April 6, 1941 at St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill. Her family included 8 brothers and one sister, She attended Live Oak and Cedar Hill Schools.
On November 26, 1950, she married Erwin O. Schulze at St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill. Evelyn was a homemaker and a life long member of St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill. While she and Erwin were raising their two children, she was a seamstress for her family and she enjoyed gardening. Evelyn was a past member and honorary member of the St. John Ladies Aid.
Survivors include: son, Gary Schulze of Brenham, daughter, Linda Schulze of Brenham sister, Doris Kuecker Sebesta of Snook Texas, brothers and sisters-in-law all of Brenham: Henry Jr. and Blondean Kuecker, Wilfred and Barbara Kuecker, Howard and Mildred Kuecker, Charles Kuecker and Gerald and Theresa Kuecker, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Emery and Helen Schulze of Brenham, Elsie Schulze of Houston, Ruth Schulze of Houston, Reuben Kelm of Brenham. Survivors also include numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, and cousins.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents her husband, Erwin O. Schulze, brothers and sisters-in-law, Ervin Kuecker and Laverna Kuecker, Clarence Kuecker and Dorothy Kuecker, and Elroy Kuecker and Betty Kuecker; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Herbert Sebesta, Erna Schulze Wegner and Henry Wegner, Sr., Edna Schulze Kelm, Ella May Schulze Lesemann Luedemann, Lawrence Lesemann, Willie Luedemann, Ernest Schulze , Edwin Schulze, Elaste Schulze Gaskamp and Herbert Gaskamp, and Evelyn Schulze Cherry and Rev. Eugene Cherry.
Funeral service for Evelyn Schulze will be held Monday, February 22, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill with Pastor David Hansen officiating. Visitation will be Sunday form 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill.
