Margie Perkins, 100, of Houston, died May 28, 2010, in Plaza Specialty Hospital in Houston.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 2 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery at Gay Hill with Pastor Virgil Pecht officiating.

Miss Perkins was born April 17, 1910 to Henry and Nora (Sims) Perkins in McCrory, Arkansas. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas and her master's degree from the University of Houston. Miss Perkins was a teacher and counselor at Galena Park Junior High School, retiring in 1975, and also was employed by the LaMarque Independent School District. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma – Zeta Upsilon.

Survivors include her niece, Rebecca Perkins of Houston, and numerous great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

Miss Perkins was preceded in death by her parents.
